Dear Downtown Montessori Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

Many of you are familiar with SBDM, but for those who are new to the school, the Site Based Decision Making (SBDM) is a state-mandated, campus-focused committee that serves as an advisory council to the principal for "school-business" issues.  We help Mr. Sanchez focus on improving the educational experience and performance of our students by concentrating on six key areas: planning, budgeting, curriculum, staff development, facilities and safety.  This committee works closely with our principal, the PTO and other school organizations to review our strengths and address concerns.  We also engage in outreach and advocacy on behalf of Downtown Montessori Academy with Dallas ISD as well as maintain connections with fellow schools within our feeder pattern.

Our committee is comprised of parents, teachers, administrators and community members.  We generally meet once a month for one hour.  Anyone is welcome to join in on the monthly meetings.
